The Study Of Motive Mechanism Of Development And Development Model In The Small-size And Medium-size Cities In The Megalopolis

After China's reform and opening-up, the paces of city's development are obviously accelerated. The urbanization level of China is constantly improving as well. In the process of urbanization, some geographical landscapes appear in some areas because many cities'expand and develop in a continuous space -- megalopolis. In the Changjiang Delta area, Pearl River Delta area, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei area of the Bohai Sea fringe, three megalopolises have gradually formed. The characteristics of the megalopolis are: there is a group of most developed cities in one country or in an area; there are two or more most developed metropolises of the country or the area and numerous small-size and medium-size cities at the same time; the population of core urban area is above 2 million; cities in the megalopolis are link by traffic arteries; there are ports in the megalopolis.At present, the megalopolis of China is still at the stage of forming and developing. The domestic study on megalopolis has yet to be systematic. The research object is generally the whole megalopolis. Most of the research contents focus on aspects such as the determination of the range of the megalopolis, the megalopolis functions on the country or the area, the reason of megalopolis forming, and etc. The research does not focus the structure inside of the megalopolis --The development of cities in the megalopolis especially small-size and medium-size cities. In recent years, although some scholars carried on research in small-size and medium-size towns and alienated cities, their research has not involved the small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis. The small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis are not as simple as small-size and medium-size towns or alienated cities; they have their own special living environment and special rules of development. Holistically speaking, development of the small-size and medium-sized cities in the megalopolis are to be studied.This thesis aims at exploring development problems of the small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis to draw the universal law of the small-size and medium-size cities'development in the megalopolis and to guide the development of the small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis. This thesis begins with relevant development theories of the small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis. Then the development motive forces of the small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis are reviewed. Then this thesis analyzes the motive mechanism of development, i.e., the relationship between the referred motive power and small-size and medium-size cities'development in the megalopolis. On the basis of clarifying the motive mechanism of development, this thesis summarizes the development models of the small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis. Langfang is taken as an example at the end of the thesis. Langfang is analyzed for its motive mechanism of development in the megalopolis of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. A concrete development model is chosen for Langfang.Main contributions and innovations in this thesis are: First, the connotation of megalopolis is given in this thesis. At present, there is no widely-recognized concept of megalopolis. The scholars have different understanding to the megalopolis due to the different backgrounds and perspectives. In addition, with the development of the megalopolises in China, some judging standards are not suitable to the current situation of the megalopolis now; Second, this thesis interrelates the living environments of small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolises with the various relevant economics theories of cities development. This thesis refines out the development motive force of the small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis. Then this thesis analyzes how the motive forces influence the development of the small-size and medium-size cities to get the motive mechanism of development of the small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis and the model of motive mechanism's of development; Third, according to the motive mechanism of development of the small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis, the thesis creatively sums up a set of the general and concrete development models of the small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis. And the thesis proposes the development mode selection models of the small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis. This model is designed on the philosophy of the computer programs. It is applicable in the choice of the development models of small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis; Fourth, based on the development models of small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis and the theory achievements of development motive force mechanism and development model of small-size and medium-size cities in the megalopolis referred above, the thesis takes Langfang as an example and analyzes Langfang's development motive mechanism in the megalopolis of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. This thesis makes a specific development model of Langfang. In order to make the development model scientifically and insightfully, the thesis use gray-predicting model when analyzing the motive mechanism of development of Langfang to predict the main external motive forces of Langfang in the following five years. The future development model is fully considered in the thesis.
