Recently, human resource management has been brought to strategic stature by entrepreneurs. And at the same time HR dept. has been changed from non-significant functional department to the strategic fellow of operational department. The competition for human resource, which is the key competition element, is the essence of the future competition among corporations. And we all acknowledge that what is the most important for the human resource is the compensation for its value, which becomes the most powerful inherent impetus and the most forceful incentive instrument for the employees. A corporation must not get the competition advantage depending simply on a right competition management system, inasmuch as material compensation is not exclusive incentive instrument. By contraries, without a right competition management system, a corporations can not gain the competition advantage in human resource absolutely, considering that compensation management plays an important special role in human resource management, which can not be replaceable.The theory, design principles and process of compensation management were firstly introduced in this paper. The present compensation management situations of the corporation were analyzed and problems were brought forward. Based on different compensation management theories and three functions of compensation management (modulation function, guarantee function and prompting function), three dimension moulds were established in this paper respectively, which were corresponding to basal wage, skill wage and performance wage. The establishing of YanTai Ocean Shipping corporation compensation system is the application of three-dimensional moulds. Firstly, we should find the structure of the organization department, and optimize the job responsibilities system. Then all job responsibilities are analyzed, and to find the minimum wage job to confirm the basic wage, which is the first dimension mould. And the other job stations were evaluated and graded. Market price, supply and demand status of all the job station was investigated by market researches. Job wage and floating wage were confirmed based on these two sides, which is the second dimension mould. Finally, key performance indicator system was established to assess employees' performance, which is the third dimension mould.This paper in guide of the modern compensation management theory, relies on the thought of finding, analyzing and solving problems, and holds the principle that claim relation between theory and practice. And the author takes the YanTai Ocean Shipping corporation as research object, in consideration of its developing strategy, and then design a compensation system that suit the status of YanTai Ocean Shipping corporation.
