Study Of Venture Capital Firms, Supplier Performance Evaluation System

Venture investment originated from United States in 1940s.According to the definition of NVCA(National Venture Capital Association),Venture investment companies are the enterprises whose main lines of business are invested in high and new technology enterprises and small and medium-sized science and technology enterprises.First,The object of venture investment are high and new technology enterprises,whose capital and management are usually unstable,dynamic and complex.Venture investment company has to establish a strategic cooperative partnership with suppliers.Second,venture investment company is usually small and medium enterprise.The purchasing volume is lower but more varieties.So the supplier for one part is normally only one source.Third,the products of venture investment company are high and new technology products,so the supplier has a little manufacturing experience on it.The quality department of the venture investment company will face a huge challenge to control the incoming quality.Conclusively,we need to construct a new supplier performance measurement index system for venture investment company.This can help to assist the supplier to improve the product quality,and maintain the strategic cooperative partnership with the suppliers at the same time.There is less study on supplier performance measurement index system for venture investment company in academic circle now.The venture investment company executes supplier performance measurement index system copying from traditional large-sized company.But it will encounter many problems during executing the system due to huge different characteristics between venture investment company and large-sized company.Therefore,this thesis presents a new supplier performance measurement index system suitable for venture investment company,with AHP(Analysis Hierarchy Process) and fuzzy approach.It also gives a case study for the topic.Finally,it concludes the new measurement index system and proposes some questions for further discussion.
