China Gas has made a significant progress after entering vehicle CNG market. The vehicle CNG market has been proven to be more and more important, as the implementation of the energy-saving policy and gas-guzzler tax nationwide. The sales proportion of vehicle CNG is continuously up among the total gas sales. The new era of vehicle CNG market triggers the re-evaluation of the strategies on this specific market.The paper adopts theory and practice, together with the mixed analysis of qualitative and quantitative measures. The paper aims to analyze the practical issues theoretically. Firstly, the paper illustrates the current status of vehicle CNG business of China Gas, detecting several strategic flaws. Since the vehicle CNG business of China Gas from city to city shares a lot of similarities, we, take Xiaogan, City as an example, conduct a concrete analysis.The paper gives a whole picture of the GAS market competition environment, where China GAS is standing. SWOT as a tool, combined with the usage of marketing strategic methodology, such as STP, 4Ps, CRM, and key client relationship management. The paper is exploring how to select a target market, how to position in a gas product, and what marketing strategy is sharp in a competition.The writer reckons that the target market of China Gas would initially be the segmentation of Taxi and city bus, and then phase-in the segmentation of government car, in consideration of the current competition. The market share can be achieved by conquering segmentation one by one. China Gas must adopt penetration strategy, acting proactively to squeeze the competition. China Gas must expand its own brand perception to vehicle CNG market by borrowing the existing brand recognition on city gas market. China Gas need attract clients by company reputation, maintain clients and good brand name by excellent sales and marketing portfolio, gain market share by customer care, and ultimately achieve the growth of market share. China Gas need well manage those key clients, which are the basis of being a top company in vehicle CNG market.
