Responsible For The Management Of Sustainable Development-oriented Software Companies

There are lots of small and medium-sized enterprises in Chinese software industry. As the global financial crisis is coming, Chinese economic growth rate has fallen. Faced with the worsening situation, Chinese software enterprises have to face up to their survival challenges. As a promise for sustainable development, maybe CSR can help these software enterprises come through the difficult times, and make them walk up the road of healthy development.Based on principle of combining practice with theory, this paper applies a research method which combines compare analysis with logical analysis to study the subject for sustainable development of Chinese software industry with six parts of content. In the first part of this paper, the meaning of CSR and Sustainable Development of Enterprise is introduced. The co-dependent relationship between these two concepts is also explained in this part. In the second part, the paper analyzes the characteristics of unbalance for the development of Chinese software industry, and figure out majority of small and medium-sized software enterprises are in difficulties. In the third part, customer and employee are judged as the key stakeholders for software enterprises. After a statistical analysis of survey data on turnover rate and CMM certificate amount of Chinese software industry, we can come to the conclusion that our software enterprises have not assumed responsibilities for their customers and employees commendably, and CSR management is necessary indeed for our software corporations. The fourth part of this article is with regard to the feasibility analysis of CSR management in software enterprises. In this part, the paper reveals a problem that Total Responsibility Management (TRM) isn't fit for majority of Chinese software enterprises, instead, the CSR management in our software corporations should focus on the quality management of products and services. In the fifth part, a new concept of Socially Responsible TQM is brought out including its function, details and advantages compared with TRM and basic TQM. Lastly, in order to make this new concept more clear, a typical case on which a private-owned software enterprise implemented the Socially Responsible TQM method in Beijing was analyzed.With the study of this paper, it is clear that CSR management is very useful for sustainable development of Chinese software industry. The Socially Responsible TQM method is going to explore new thought way of the implementation of CSR Management in our software corporations.
