| The article, on the background of Dalian Automobile Terminal (short for DAT as follows), takes advantage of AHP to analysis the current external factors of DAT, focusing on how to increase the terminal throughput and improve business conditions. The article also suggests competitive strategies of DAT in the short, medium and long terms and put forward concrete measures for implementation.DAT is an important part and carrier of building up Dalian to be a shipping center in Northeast Asia, also takes an important business and social responsibility. However, comparing with the other 3 ports, Dalian Automobile Terminal is not optimistic about current situation of its production and management, the slow growth of transit output and laying in a loss, which is restricted by the northeast hinterland consumption power, export capacity and the traditional concept of road transportation system.Through the analysis of the external environment and internal environment of DAT strengths and weaknesses, the article results that the only changeable way is to actively stretch to the ends of the logistics chain to form a complete logistics system on the basis of its own resources in order to provide advantageous cost for customers and provide intensive, fast of the whole logistics solutions to vehicle manufacturers, and gradually complete the transition to the fourth generation of the port.This article is divided into six parts. The first part is the introducing the background of the main topics discussed, research significance and the strategic model. The second and third parts focus on current situation and future development space, which provides the basic information for its developing position. The fourth part is to choose competitive strategy by SWOT analysis, propose seven potential businesses, use AHP to determine the short-and long-term strategy.
