In the 21st century, the port, as a ring of the most important aspects of water-land transshipment and transportation junction, not only serves for logistics transportation, but also promotes the operation of national logistics system, regional economic development, and international trade. As the concepts of the Whole Logistics and the Whole Supply Chain Management are widely accepted in the world economy, ports will play a more significant role in the development of global trade in the future. Meanwhile, the initials of One Belt and One Road, which is presented by the Chinese government in 2013, will provide more policy supports for the development of a new generation of Chinese ports, and opportunities and challenges caused by international competition simultaneously. As a consequence, it is imperative and reasonable to explore the competitive strategy of port. Among the various types of terminals, oil terminals are attached the most importance, because of its high security requirements, incomparable profits, and the high degree of dependence on the importing crude oil which is over 50% in China. In addition, considering the excess supply and the decreasing price of crude oil, China is speeding up the construction of oil reserve for strategic demands, which subsequently leads to the growing pressure of competition. Therefore, it is significant to study the competitive strategy of oil terminals based on both macro-environment and micro-environment.With DLG Oil Terminal Company as the research object, this study will mainly explore its strategic orientation, strategic options and concrete measures. By mean of the analysis of both external and internal environment applied by SWOT analysis, this research will come up with the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of DLG Oil Terminal. And then the strategic choices will be made according to the SWOT matrix. As a result, it will present the directions and objectives of competitive strategies, and finally specific strategies and measures.
