China's Foreign Trade Logistics Supply Chain System Optimization Study

In order to respond to the international financial crisis, meet with the objective requirements of economic globalization and to ensure the sustained rapid growth of our national economy, the State Council issued the'notification on restructuring and revitalization plan in logistics industry'on March 10,2009. The major task is to accelerate the development of international logistics, and to strengthen the cohesion and coordination between the constructions of logistics infrastructures. The plan will focus on completing bulk commodities, rural logistics engineering, and other seven projects. In order to maintain growth, expand domestic demand and readjust the structure, we should continue to promote the opening up and international cooperation in logistics industry.Foreign trade logistics is the cross-border movement of goods in foreign trade. It develops along with the economic globalization and logistics internationalization. The efficient operation of its supply chain systems is an important guarantee for the development of foreign trade. However, due to the uneven development of management level and technical facilities in different regions, the present efficiency of foreign trade logistics systems in China is generally low. Problems such as inadequate information systems, unstable supply chain systems, and irrational market structure restrict the development of foreign trade in China. It is imminent to optimizing and building complete and effective supply chain systems of foreign trade logistics. In addition, foreign trade logistics in China is still not mature. Its role in promoting economic growth and foreign trade is not fully presented. Therefore, scientific planning of foreign trade logistics systems is of great significance.In this thesis, we analyze the operation status and characteristics of foreign trade logistics and its supply chain systems in China from systematic perspective. For its defects and problems, we focus on its operation processes, international cooperation and the logistics network of agriculture products to optimize and improve the systems. This paper includes five chapters.In the first chapter, we describe the theory of foreign trade logistics supply chain systems and the development context, enumerate the researches done by domestic and foreign scholars, and finally point out our main research results.In the second chapter, according to the essential role of port supply chain in foreign trade logistics, we analyze its management mode and problems, refer to Lean Six Sigma method and its wide application, then put forward the Lean Six Sigma foreign trade logistics operation systems optimization and management improvement that is applied to port supply chain.In the third chapter,we study the development of present foreign trade logistics in China, based on the unique logistics resources in the Bohai rim and the Northeast Asia as well as the current demand for international logistics cooperation, and then propose the Northeast Asia regional foreign trade logistics cooperation systems with the center of Bohai economic zone.In the chapter four, take the agricultural foreign trade logistics systems for example, we learn from the developed countries in agricultural exports, focusing on the three-tier logistics supply chain system of our national agricultural exports, then build the network layout systems of agricultural export logistics.The fifth chapter, we summarize the whole thesis.
