Weifang Tourism Development Based On Regional Cooperation In Research

Regional cooperation, as an important economic characteristic, has been one of the development trend of modern world. Conforming to the historical trend of the time, regional cooperation in tourism has also been the concern of all walks of life. But so far, the theory and practice are not yet mature, and the empirical research for the specific case is still necessary.Weifang is located in the center of Shandong Peninsula. It has good geographical location, economic level, the natural environment, historical and cultural conditions, which give the comparative advantages of developing tourism. In Shandong province, Weifang tourism industry started earlier, and was an important tourist city in Shandong. However, since the late 1990s, its development has becoming relatively slow, and shown the growing marginalization. In 2007, Weifang carried on regional cooperation, so as to promote its second take-off in tourism. Practice has shown that this strategy has obvious effects. This study is based on this background.In consideration of the complexity of the regional tourism cooperation, at first the paper makes use of the region economic theory. It makes the study on the overall development of Weifang tourism industry by analyzing the natural resources, traffic pattern and market structure. Rich resources and convenient transportation provide the advantages of tourism development for Weifang. According to traffic patterns and market structure analysis, the relationship between Weifang regional tourism is clear. These analyses provide the basis for the cooperation.Combined with the overall study of the Weifang tourism, the regional cooperation is discussed, including the ongoing Weifang "Integration with Qingdao" Strategy and Weifang tourism cooperation with other regions. The paper analyzes the feasibility of "Integration with Qingdao" strategy, and put over the focus developing region and direction of tourism development integration. Based on the Shandong economic and tourism development pattern, other cooperation areas are selected, and the details of the tourism cooperation are analyzed. Finally, the policy advices are given about the Weifang tourism development.
