PurposeTo observe the clinical effect of electroacupuncture and deeply needling at Dachangshu and Guanyuanshu and explore whether the treatment of electroacupuncture and deeply needling was better than that of the traditional way by animal experiment and clinical research. The research would provide a secure and effective way to treat Lumbar intervertebral disk protrusion ( LIDP ) by acupuncture.Methods:Clinical research: 253 patients, who accorded with the standard, were randomly divided into two groups: treated group and control group. Deeply needling was used in treated group and the top of the needle must be stabbed the intervertebral foramen. Control group made use of the traditional way and de qi was indispensable. Two groups all combined with points of Gallbladder Meridian of Foot-Shaoyang and Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang. After 6 weeks (3 therapeutic courses) the effect was observed.Experimental research: the models of injured sciatic nerve rats were treated by the methods of electroacupuncture and deeply needling, deeply needling and traditional acupuncture. After 3-week-treatment, effect of three kinds of treatment methods to the recovery of injured sciatic nerve and gastrocnemius muscle's atrophy and controlling by sciatic nerve was observed.ResultClinical experiment: In the treated group, the cured rate was 55.69%, the cured and markedly effective rate was 83.83% and total effective rate was 97.59%. In the control group, the cured rate was 43.02%, the cured and markedly effective rate was 69.76% and total effective rate was 94.18%. There was no significant difference in the effective rate between the two groups (p>0.05). But the difference of the cured and the markedly effective rate between two groups was significant (p<0.01). Therapeutic course was significantly shorter than control group (p<0.05). During the treatment, therewas no side effect.Animal experiment: Pathological change of treatment group was slighter than that of control group. Recovered rate of SFI, damp weigh of gastronomies muscle, recovered rate of damp weigh and acreage of muscular cell were significantly different from the control group (P<0.01), which were similar in traditional acupuncture group and deeply needling group. But the effect of electroacupuncture and deeply needling group was better than that of traditional acupuncture group (P<0.05). There was significant difference in Pathological change of sciatic nerve, multipication of cells and demyelination of nerve between electroacupuncture and control group, so was between deeply needling group and control group.Conclusion:The research testified that electroacupuncture and deeply needling at Dachangshu and Guanyuanshu were superior to traditional acupuncture and traditional electroacupuncture, which was proved by the clinical and experimental research. It showed that the treatment of electroacupuncture and deeply needling could improve the clinical effect of LIDP of acupuncture.
