Lipid Tongmai Particles On Lipid Metabolism In The Elderly Hyperlipidemia Phlegm And Blood Stasis Syndrome

The traditional Chinese medical prescription"Tiaozhi Tongmai Granules"(TTG) has good treatment response at treating hyperlipi- demia,which was proved in the past investigation. TTG can decrease total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein-chole- sterol(LDL-C), and it can increase high density lipoprotein–cholesterol (HDL-C),etc. The objectives of the trial are to evaluate the efficacy of TTG treating hyperlipidemia, and to observe the influence of TTG on haemostatic activity. So that we can make further verifying the efficacy of the Chinese medical method of activating blood and resolving stagnation in treating hyperlipidemia.A 4-week, randomized double-blind double imitate-control parallel observational clinic trial was made,in which 104 patients with hyperlipidemia were divided into 2 groups randomly, with 59 patients in the treated group and 45 patients in the controlled group. The former took the TTG orally two times per day with 12g each time. The latter were given orally Xuezhikang Capsule(XC), 0.8g every time , two times per day. Thereafter the indexes about serum lipid, haemostatic activity were observed at baseline and terminal points. The indexs above were analysed trough SPSS10.0.TTG showed efficacy to decrease total cholesterol(TC),trigly- ceride(TG),low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C),apolipopro- teinB(ApoB),the index of atherosclerosis(AI)(P<0.01) very signify- cantly. The total efficiency to regulate blood lipid is 82.36%. In this respect it's lipid-regulating effect can be compared with that of XC (The total lipid-regulating effect of XC is 86.67%). But the efficacy of TTG to improve the index of haemostatic activity has an advan- tage over that of XC (P<0.05). The total efficiency of TTG to regulate the syndrome is 81.40%, and in this respest it has an advantage over that of XC, which is 66.67%( P<0.05).
