Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a type of base on abdomen pain or abdomen discomfort with behavior change in intestine function. It's necessary to investigate and to exclude the organic disease related symptom.Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a common Functional gastro-intestinal disease, which has the higher rate of 40%~70% in the gastro-intestinal medical clinic.The increase number of IBS patients has rise year by year, it had become gradually aroused the attention of domestic and international researchThe topic goes through literature summary and clinical research, it's to explore Chinese Medicine from different perspective towards understanding and to systemize Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It is include also to study relationship between Irritable Bowel Syndrome and depression, which the useful attempt is for better prevention towards Irritable Bowel Syndrome1 literature summary: Goes through nearly 10 years of domestic and international literature information, explore Chinese Medicine philosophy consist of cause theory, pathogenesis theory, syndrome principle study, treatment research and systemize disease onset of modern medicine, progress and overview of diagnosis and therapy.2 Clinical researchesApproach: Use method of clinical epidemiology basis on 110 clinical cases information of Irritable Bowel Syndrome patients, explore the relevance information of epidemiology, Chinese Medicine syndrome principle and relationship with depression towards Irritable Bowel Syndrome.Result: 1 Ratio of male and female patient is 1:1.39, average age 41.89±13.19, age distribution of age group 30~39 years old show large proportion, has the percentage 31.8 % out of the total number of cases, follow by age group 40~49years old, which the total percentage of the two age groups are 58.1%.2 duration of ILL condition patient are mostly 1~5years long.3 The most common factors triggering onset in patients are emotional causes that has the proportion of 30.9%.4 The education level of patients order by university, high school, above university, primary school, illiteracy.5 The occupational distribution of patient are mostly merchant, Intellectuals, student.6 Within total patients, 70 cases contain depression, has 63.6%。7 Patients diagnosis by Chinese Medicine syndrome principle are mostly with Liver stagnation Spleen deficiency syndrome and Spleen Qi Deficiency syndrome, each has...
