Objective: Based on former experimental and the clinical researches, we investigate the effects of Langchuangjing Granule (LCG), one of Chinese herbal medicines (CHM), on the activities of serum cytokine TNF-α, IL-2 and P, E-selectin and the expression of ICAM-1 in the renal tissue of inborn NZB/W F1 lupus-prone mice. Methods: (1) NZB/NZW F1 mice were administered with LCG at 2.95g·kg-1, 5.9g·kg-1, 11.8g·kg-1 and ( LCG5.9g+Pred0.01g) · kg-1 for 20 days. Prednisone was used as the positive drug. The expression of ICAM-1 of renal tissue was measured by immunohistochemistry Avidin-Biotin-peroxidase Complex technique.(2) NZB/NZW F1 mice were administered with LCG at 2.95g·kg-1 and 11.8g·kg-1 for 54 days. Serum TNF-α, IL-2 and P,E-selectin were measured by ELISA.Results: (1) In control group a small amount of ICAM-1 was detected in the glomerular capillary loop, renal interstitium and artery vein wall. Meanwhile, no ICAM-1 was found in the mesangial region and renal tubule. A large amount of ICAM-1 was observed in the glomerular capillary loop and mesangial region in the model control group. However, in all treated groups ICAM-1 was found but distributed in a limited manner. Except the low dose, LCG at all concentrations could inhibit the...
