Spleen Qi, Stasis Prescription And Folfox Chemotherapy In The Treatment Of Postoperative Colorectal Cancer

Objective: To investigate the short-term curative effect of using method of reinforcing Qi to strengthen the spleen and promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis combined with the chemotherapy of FOLFOX to cure corectal cancer and to investigate the TCM's function of reducing toxicity and increasing effect on chemotherapy.Method: Divided 30 patients of corectal cancer, who had been cured, into two groups randomly, one group was treated with the TCM and Chemotherapy as the test group, and the other group was treated with Chemotherapy only as the contrast group. Each group had 15 patients. The two groups were both given FOLFOX regiment treatment, and the test group took the prescription of reinforcing Qi to strenthen the spleen and promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis recipe additionally, one dose everyday, 300 ml juice decocted and taken orally twice. Both groups had been given two 4-week courses.Results: The results were as follows: The syndrome scores of the test group were 8.2±1.5 before treatment, and 7.3±1.7 after treatment, P=0.002, P<0.05. There was significant difference between before and after treatment. This indicated that the syndromes of the test group after treated with Chemicaltheropy and CTM have improved significantly. The syndrome scores of the test group were 8.9±1.7 before treatment, and 9.3±1.9 after treatment, P=0.059, P>0.05. There is no significant difference between before and after treatment.After treatment, The x2 score of test group increased from 69.3±9.6 to 70.7±7.0, but the x2 score of contrast group decreased from 69.3±8.8 to 58.7±11.3. There was no significant difference between before and after treatment of test group (p>0.05) , but the difference was significant of contrast group (p<0.05 ) .This result indicated that the life quality of the patients in the test group didn't decrease, whereas the contrast group decreased. After treatment, The CEA value of the test group increased from 12.7±24.1 ng/mlto 14.5±36.9ng/ml, There was no significant difference between them in statistics(p>0.05).
