The Qi Bushenhuoxue Side Joint Western Treatment Of Multiple Myeloma Mechanism

Mutiple myeloma(MM) is a common hematogenous tumor. Cytokines are being paid more and more atteintion to for its functions in MM.Our treatment with Qi increasing,Kidney tonic and Blood circulation improving Chinese Medcine with chemotherapeutics and thalidomide for MM patients gets good curative effect, thus this research to search the mechanism was born.This thesis is composed with Literature Summary and Clinical Study. Two summaries are provided. One is concerning of the application of TCM theory in the treatment of MM and the estimate of the efficiency.In the other summary, we talk about the cytokine we will deal with: Interleukine-6(IL-6).The relationship of IL-6 and MM is revealed in details.In the clinical study, all MM patients'cases in Dongfang Hospital are studied, and those of Period 3 are picked out for further study,17 cases in all. We calculate the correlation of the factors such as IL-6, C-reaction protein(CRP),β2-micro-globulin (β2-MG), lactatede hydrogenase (LDH), hemoglobin (HGB), creatinine (CRE), Urea, bone marrow plasma cells (BMPC) and BenJones protein ,etc.Then we compare these factors expect IL- 6 before and after a period of treatment containing chemotherapeutics M2 in 10 cases. The 8 cases during August,2006 to April,2007 were used for comparing IL-6,CRP,LDH ,β2-MG before and after the treatment,and the difference of IL- 6 between MM patients and 12 healthy volunteers,for studying the function of IL-6 in MM.IL-6 is detected with IMMULITE system.The result reveals that IL-6,CRP and BMPC are strongly correlated,andβ2-MG has strong correlation with both BMPC and BenJones protein.IL-6,CRP,CRE,Urea,β2-MG,BMPC and BenJones protein could be significantly reduced afer a period of treatment (P<0.05).There are significant differences between MM patients and healthy volunteers(P<0.05).β2-MG in 3B patients are higher than in those 3A patients,and very significantly difference is observed.Conclusion: Treatment of Qi increasing,Kidney tonic and Blood circulation Improving Chinese Medicine with chemotherapeutics and thalidomide is efficient for MM patients,and the mechanism could be related to reducing IL-6 and restrain its relevant MM cell proliferation controlling system.There may be other mechanism of this treatment to reduce M protein and the damage of renal function in MM patients.
