Objective: To sum up the data about the main symptom and location ofeight-extra meridian confluent points in the medical literature from ancient tomodern and calculate the frequency to conclude the high-frequency symptom ofeight-extra meridian confluent points. Methods: Searched 703 ancient booksabout acupuncture of Qing dynasty and before, 200 books involving theconcerned matter are included, and the articles published on Chinese medicalmagazines, about 787 articles recording the main symptom of eight-extrameridian confluent points are included. Built a data-base, input the literaturedata and counted the appearance frequency of the main symptom, thenconcluded five common-used symptom of these points. Results: Collected theliterature about the byname,location, acupuncture and moxibustion method andmain symptom of eight-extra meridian confluent points detailedly. Built adata-base that all about the eight-extra meridian confluent points can bechecked. Conclusion: Through summing up and analyzing ancient and modernliterature, we summarized high-frequency symptoms of eight-extra meridianconfluent points and the law of combining points...
