Castanea mollissima Blume,a member of Castanea genus of Fagacaea family, whose warm-natured,property sweet taste, put in should be spleen, chylostomach and shenjing system according to the herd property rules and used to treat waist pain, urination redundancy and chronic bacillary diarrhea. In order to research its chemical constituents, especially to find the new agents with the bioactivities, seeds of Castanea mollissima Blume were extrated by the method of CO2 supercritical fluid extraction, and then the crude extract further was extracted with 90%EtOH.The 90%EtOH was suspended in water and extracted with EtOAc,n-BuOH solvent.By means of the silica gel, sephadex LH-20 column chromatogry and ODS column chromatogry isolation methods, 26 compounds were obtained, and among them 23 compounds structures were identified as 6-(2',3'-dihydroxy-4'-hydroxymethyl-tetrahydro-furan-1 '-yl)-cyclopenta[c]pyrrole-1,3-diol(1),moll ioside(2),kaempferol3-O-[6"-O-(E)-p-coumaroyl]-β-D-galactopyranoside(3),tiliroside(4),kaempf erol-3-O-[6",2"-di-O-(E)-p-coumaroyl]-β-D-glucopyranoside(5),5-hydroxy-2-hydroxymethyl-pyridi ne(6),uracil(7),(6S,9S)6-hydroxy-3-oxe-α-ionol-9-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(8),(6S,9R) 6-hydroxy-3-oxo-α-ionol-9-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(9),n-butyl-O-β-D-fructopyranoside(10), azelaic acid(11),isopentanoic acid methlyester(12),hexadecanoic acid 2,3-di-hydroxypropyl es ter(13),5-hydroxymethyl-furaldehyde(14),maltose(15),sucrose(16),fructose(17),kaempferol(18), p-hydroxybenzoic acid(19),protocatechuic acid(20),gallic acid(21),glucose(22),daucosterol(23). Among these compounds, compound 1 and 2 were new compounds, compound 3,5-14 were obtained from Castanea genus for the first time and compound 4,15-17 were isolated from this plant for the first time.
