Study Of The Chemical Composition Of Thirty-seven Reed Head

Panax notoginseng(Burk.)F.H.Chen is distributed throughout the southwest of China. The root of this plant,called notoginseng or sanqi,has a long history of being used as a remedy in the Oriental traditional medicines.It sweet with slightly bitter flavour,promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis.Modem studies have shown that extracts and compounds from notoginseng exerted various physiological effects and bioactive.The active constituents were mainly recognized as saponins.The compounds were separated by AB-8 macroporous resin and repeated silica colums,ODS methods.The structures of these isolated compounds were identified by their physico-chemical properties and spectra data.Fifteen compounds were obtained,and fourteen of them identified as 3β,6α,12β,20(S), 25-pentahydroxydammar-23(24)-ene(1),20(R)-ginsenoside-Rh1(2),ginsenoside-Rk3(3), ginsenoside-Re(4),ginsenoside-Rg1(5),notoginsenoside-R3(6),notoginsenoside-R1(7), 20(R)-ginsenoside-Rg3(8),3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl]-20-O-β-D-gl ucopyranosyl-24-ene-dammar-3β,12β,20S-triol(9),ginsenoside-Rb3(10),ginsenoside-Rb1 (11),ginsenoside-Rd(12),β-sitosterol(13),daueosterol(14).Compound 1 was a new compound.
