Background:Cancer is one of the three deadly diseases. The incidence of tumor is increasing year after year. In 2006 Ministy of Health announced that tumor had became the first deadly disease in our country. Body weight is one of parameters in nutrition evaluation,also one of parameters for clinical effects of new TCM herbs on tumor treatment with chemotherapy. It can indirectly reflect the qaulity of life and it is objective. At present the reseach on parameter of body weight is few. It requaires farther studies.Objective:In order to observe the effect of chemotheraphy on body weight of patient in one cycle,Whether there is accordance on body weight in Gastrointestinal tumors and Non-Gastrointestinal tumors. Which are the related facts effecting body weight reducing more than 1kg. Whether it is reasonable that 1kg as one of curative effect parameters in new TCM herb cilical practice.Methods: Observe change of body weight of 181 patients who receive chemothrapy in one cycle. Analysis the datas by t-test, X~2-test Kruskal-wallis-test,Logistic.Result: In 181 patients there were 3 patients who had broke off in clinical reseach,including 2 patients died and 1 patient suffered from paralysis because of encephalon infarction during chemotherapy. All the dates are analyzed. There is accordance in Gastrointestinal tumors and Non-Gastrointestinal tumors (P>0.05) . Gastrointestinal Sydrome 2 weeks before chemotheraphy, severity marrow restaint and using Megestrol Acetate are rask facts which cause Reducing body weight more than 1kg. The effect of chemotheraphy on the body weight in one cycle more than 1kg (P<0.01) . The 95%Confidence Intervals of body weight change percent are from -6.62% to 3.92% with one cycle cheomtherapy.Conclusion:This research substantiates that there is accordance on body weight in Gastrointestinal tumors and Non-Gastrointestinal tumors that it can use as the same curative effect evaluation target. Clinician must pay more attention to it if there are durative gastrointestinal symptons 2 weeks before cheomtherapy. It is necessary to control symptons and give nutrition support. Severity marrow restaint may indicates large-scale body weight losing. Clinician must pay more attention to it. Clinician also should use Megestrol Acetate as soon as possible according timely nutrition and cachexia evaluation results. Body weigt is valuable as a curative effect evaluation parameters for new TCM drugs on tumor treatment with chemotherapy , Body weight losing is very common for patients with cheomtherapy. The effect on body weight is more than 1kg. Improve curative effect evaluation standard of body weight for 21 days as one cycle based on this research datas: increasing more than 3.9% is effective, increasing no more than 3.9% or decreasing no more than 6.6% is steady , decreasing more than 6.6% is ineffective.
