National Drug Geshanxiao, Chemical Composition Of The Study

The contents of this thesis mainly involved two charpters.Chapter 1 discussed the isolation and identification of chemical constituents from Cynanchum auriculatum Royle ex Wight..Chapter 2 mainly reported the studies on chemical structures and the bioactivities of the Cynanchum.The Cynanchum auriculatum Royle ex Wight is a farmous ethno-medicine,named as Baishouwu.It has been used more than 1,000 years in china.The results of the modern pharmacological research of the medical plant showed differnt biological activities,such as free radical scavenging effect,improve immunity and anti-tumor activity.In order to find the better bio-active compounds,the chemical constituents of the C.auriculatum Royle ex Wight were isolated by various methods,such as column chromatography(CC), medium pressure liquid chromatography(MPLC),Sephadex LH-20,recrystallization and other separation methods.30 Compounds were obtained from this plant,and 18 compounds were identified by spectroscopic annlysis(UV,IR,MS,NMR and 2D-NMR) together with physicochemical data,among of them,seven compounds were steroidal compounds including a new compound,named as.auriculatine.In order to understand the chemical constituents and bioactivities of C₂₁ steroid,the development on the chemical structures and the bioactivities of the Cynanchum plants were reviewed from the 70's last century to today.
