Objective: To investigate and explore spores powder on epileptic rats electroencephalography, learning and memory, the trace element content, IL-10, Caspase-3, Livin, pathological changes in the hippocampus, and velations betueen them.Methods: 10-week-old male rats Wister 30, weight (150-220) g were randomly divided into three groups, each 10, are the normal group, the model group and treatment group. Drug group and the model group with PTZ (PTZ)-convulsive dose (35 mg / kg), once a day, intraperitoneal injection of 28 days, stopping one week, and then the same dose of PTZ test, who are five times in a rowⅡlevel or above gradeⅡseizure achieve the light standards,The normal group was given the same volume of normal saline intraperitoneal injection. The treatment group was given medication spores powder (fasting 6 h before gavage), by gavage volume of 1.0 ml / time; model group and the normal group was given the same volume of normal saline. After the experiment, measure compare and.analyse the changes of the kelevant indicators.Results: 1. Epilepsy model made successful, the model group and the treatment group had a number of consecutiveⅢ-Ⅴ-epileptic seizures, the seizures continued each ranging from 1 to 10 min. 2.After Pentylenetetrazol ignited, the learning and memory in rats significantly decreased (P <0.05). Treatment group learning and memory capacity has improved. 3. In model group hippocampus and cortex Caspase-3 expression levels increased (P <0.05) and was negatively correlated with Livin. 4.In treatment group: brain tissue and serum levels of IL-10 were significantly decreased companed rith the model group,EEG amplitude and low frequency compared to the model group (P <0.05).Conclusions: 1. Pentylenetetrazol intraperitoneal injection will be a stable animal model of epilepsy. 2. Ganoderma spore powder can improve the cortex and hippocampus electroneurophysiological functions and the ability of learning and memory in rats. 3. Ganoderma spore powder can suppress epileptic discharge, reduce the amplitude of EEG epilepsy wave of and lower paid, inhibit IL-10 expression in neurons to regulate immune. 4. Spores powder is able to adjust trace elements content to prorect neurons. 5. Ganoderma spore powder can reduce the degeneration , necrosis and apoptosis of hippocampal neurons and its role may be involved in increasing livin expressonin in hippocampal neurons and decreaing expression of Caspase-3.
