Objective To study the changes of the Interleukiu-7(IL-7)levels in the blood circulation of essential hypertension (EH) with coronary heart disease and the relationship between IL-7 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF),in order to explore the role of cytokines in the development of EH and the contact with vascular endothelial function .Method Experimental groups (50 subjects) were essential hypertension patients, included the essential hypertension class I group (also saided simply hypertension group) (25 subjects) and hypertensive disease complicated coronary artery disease group (25 subjects).Twenty control subjects were studied.Use the method of enzyme-linked immunoassay to detect the concentration of serum IL-7,vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Compare the detection index with each group. The data of result was handled with SPSS11.5 soft-ware.Result (1) In the essential hypertensive disease group, the concentrations of serum IL-7 were (105.30±15.77) pg/ml and the levels of serum VEGF were (11.58±5.22) ng/ml. While in the control group, the levels of serum IL-7 were (71.15±7.01) pg/ml and the levels of serum VEGF were (2.58±0.66) ng/ml. So the essential hypertensive disease group was significantly higher than the control group (P<0.01). (2) Hypertensive disease complicated coronary artery disease group with serum IL-7 (119.78±6.44) pg/ml and serum VEGF (16.18±2.57) ng/ml was significantly higher than the essential hypertension class I group with serum IL-7 (90.82±5.41) pg/ml and serum VEGF (6.98±2.25) ng/ml and the control group (P<0.01).(3) The levels of the serum VEGF of the essential hypertension class I group presented positive correlation change with the levels of the serum IL-7 (r=0.481,P<0.05).The levels of the serum VEGF and IL-7 of hypertensive disease complicated coronary heart disease group stepped up furtherly (r=0.558,P<0.01).Conclusion The levels of serum IL-7 significantly increased and possibly participated in the development of essential hypertension through a series of inflammatory reaction, which affected the function of blood vessel endothelium to cause serum VEGF advanced and complication accordingly.
