Chinese medicine is of long standing. Though it is the crystallization of the Chinese people, it has made a positive contribution to all mankind's health. Extraction of valid components plays an important role in the modernization of Chinese herb industry. Traditional extractions methods, such as decoction and circumfluence, have the disadvantages of great loss, long period and low yield, etc.Ultrasound-assisted extraction is the new method of combining ultrasonic technology and traditional extraction methods. Ultrasonic extraction method of Chinese medicine has shown a distinct advantage with lower extraction temperature, shorter time and the higher extraction rate. The extraction of active ingredients of medicine will not be changed by ultrasound. The content of quercetin and taxifo lin were analyzed by spectra-UV at 373nm and 290 nm, respectively and the temperature at 25℃. The linear relationship of quercetin was y=0.0711x-0.1431, r~2=0.9991, with the range of 0.0036g/L-0.0144g/L; and the linear relationship of taxifo lin was y=0.0724x+0.007, r~2=0.9986,with the range of 0.002g/L-0.01g/L.This paper has carried out a study on the enhancing mass-transfer mechanism of ultrasonic -assisted extraction of Chinese herbal medicine by experimental researching and mathematical modeling with the fructus polygoni orientalis as experimental material . The fructus polygoni orientalis contain several kinds of flavonoids and it mainly includes quercetin and taxifo lin. The fructus polygoni orientalis has anti-tumor, antibacterial, diuretic effect. At present,it is used to treat cirrhosis, hepatitis B and anti-coagulation. It is also better in treating primary liver and cancer uterine fibroids.The influences of solvent, temperature, granularity and time to extraction were researched by Orthogonal design. . And the effect of the factors to extraction is ultrasonic power> alcohol concentration > solvent amount > time. Explored an optimum extraction technology of taxifo lin and quercetin from fructus polygoni orientalis: 60 % alcohol, 40-fold solvent amount, 50 minutes and the ultrasonic power is 400 w.The ultrasonic extraction kinetics for flavonoids of fructus polygoni orientalis based on Fick' first law was first investigated in this article. The concentration of taxifo lin and quercetin influenced by factors ,such as particle size, ultrasonic power, extraction time solvent amount, and alcohol concentration were simulated with the fructus polygoni orientalis as experimental material. By means of nonlinear fitting and quadratic polynomial regression analysis, using origin and spss softare, we finally gained the relationships between equilibrium concentration, the initial concentration, the growth index and the factors. The equations can well described the process of extraction of fructus polygoni orientalis .
