Objective:(1)to study the significance of changes in blood gastrin(GAS) and(MTL)and their relationship with gastroenteral function failure in critically-ill children.(2)to study the relationgship between Cisapride and GAS,MTL of gastroenteral function failure in critically-ill children. Methods:the study was conducted in 30 children with critical illness and 30 healthy children (control group),the concentration of blood GAS and MTL was determined by using radioimmunoassay(RIA) and was compared between the two groups.Compared the level of blood GAS and MTL between the groups cured by Cisapride and normal method.Result:the level of blood GAS and MTL was significantly higher in gastroenteral function failure in critically-ill children than the other groups(F=11.2,P<0.01;F=53.99,P<0.01), Cisapride contributed to the higher level of Motilin in gastroenteral function failure in critically-ill children, but no effected on Gastrin. Conclusion:the levels of GAS and MTL in critically illness is closely associated with disease development and gastroenteral function failure.Blood GAS and MTL can be used for predicting disease severity and prognosis in critically-ill children.Cisapride can significantly attenuate the clinical symptom of gastroenteral function failure children, and develop the level Blood MTL.
