Modified Treatment Of Senile Dementia In Jinkuishenqiwan Clinical Studies

Objective: To detect the efficacy of modified golden chamber pill for reinforcing kidney qi in treating senile dementia with deficiency of the kidney essence and marrow deficiency.Methods: To evaluate the efficacy of modified golden chamber pill for reinforcing kidney qi by observing the changes in mini-mental state examination(MMSE),Activity of Daily Living Scale (ADL) and funtional activitys questionaire (FAQ) scores 4,8 and 12 weeks after the treatment that 30 patients who are of AD and aged over 50 years old in experiment group were given modified golden chamber pill for reinforcing kidney qi per day for 3 months ,and patients in controlled group were treated with piracetam per day for 3 months;to evaluate the safety of modified golden chamber pill for reinforcing kidney qi by oberving the blood routine,stool routine,liver and kidney function test. Results:The grades of Mini-mental state examination (MMSE) are improved in experiment group than that in controlled group(P<0.05).The grades of Activities of daily livifig scale (ADL)are also improved in experiment group than that in control group(P<0.05). Total effective rate is 83.33% and the control group was 52.00%,respectively.And adverse reactions are almost none.There are no damage to lung and renal .Conclusion: modified golden chamber pill for reinforcing kidney qi can effectively improve the cognized function and the ability to daily life of the patients with AD. It is very safe and effective to use.
