The 21st century is the era of information,informational is the trend of society and economic development in today world, the informational degree is a significant symbol to weigh the level of the comprehensive national strength and technology development. GIS use human love of graphics, not only can reflect the distributing of the spatial objects and phenomena and the relationship between them, but also the graphic information can be applied to many fields of society and life as the carrier of all kind information.Embedded GIS is GIS that run on the embedded devices, is one product of GIS and embedded technology combination, it is the extension and expansion of the traditional GIS. Currently the application of embedded GIS is more and more widely, such as military and national defense, field information collection, intelligent transportation, intelligent inspection, vehicle navigation, etc.How to get the information of location, damage and protection level quickly and accurately in post-disaster rescue and protection of cultural heritage is very important, this plays a decisive role of the planned work. This article use GeoMedia OnDemand as the development platform, combine with embedded GIS, GPS, Mobile Communications Technology and PDA, realize information acquisition and upload on mobile terminal by extension development, provide decision support to post-disaster rescue and protection of cultural heritage.The article describes the background and significance of thesis topics first, domestic and foreign development and the characteristics of this study; and then studies the key technologies such as GIS, GPS, embedded systems, mobile positioning involved in this paper, and this provides a basis of the mobile terminal information acquisition system development; followed is the system design, design system function modules and implementation scheme according to business needs; finally is the system implementation and application, introduces the details of the algorithm for each module and shows result of the system, also points out the problems and deficiencies of this study, proposes the next step research.
