Care Of Statement

"Care of statement" is the unique art feature of Chinese paintings. Through the description of objective things, we can express certain feelings, aspirations and interests. "Care of statement" is one of the most important aesthetics thoughts in the traditional Chinese paintings. There are a lot of discussions on the "care of statement" of ancient paintings. By sorting out these words, we can see the painting skills of ancient artist's and their personal objectives. Early in Southern dynasty era, ZongBing had already revealed the art form of "care of statement" on Landscape painting. And WangWei who lived in Tang dynasty paid attention to the value of the painting as much as poetry, because painting likes poetry to play the roles of the lyric expressing and education. During the Song Dynasty, the literati make the plum, orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum as "four nobles", and the theme on those paintings clearly reflectd the art features on "care of statement". From Yuan Dynasty when the literati painted bamboo to great Freehand in Ming and Qing Dynasty, but also showed distinctive Chinese literati's performance style on "care of statement". In early Qing Dynasty, Zhu Da who with a lot of resentful moods in all his life, painted the birds and flowers to express his motions, and this behavior put the traditional thought of "care of statement" to the peak. And the painting images had been personification and symbolic so as to express his own anger moods and proud feelings. Wu School did put the development on Chinese literati painting's "lyrical Expressing" to the extreme.The author used the ancient traditions of "lyrical Expressing" to paint series of works on reed. In modern society, people are more materialistic which leading to they often neglect inner cultivation and conservation. Studying on the skill and the aesthetic taste of ancient Chinese painting theory about "care of statement",not only can we get the influence of elegant art, but also to think more comprehend the true meaning of life through the study of ancient painters painted. For our art professional students, studying those can expand our horizons and deepen the intrinsic painting.
