Currently, the mental health of students is of great concern. According to previous surveys, the current mental health of college students in China is pessimistic, but the psychological intervention research and practice are far from meeting current needs. It has undoubtedly revealed a high theoretical significance and meaning of social reality to explore the high quality and efficient group therapy intervention model targeting this vast group of college students.Meditation has long been recognized as a way to keep a peaceful mind and thus obtaining the wisdom. The mindfulness therapy skills that are popular in the West is originated from the traditional system of Buddhist meditation. It has been developed into an effective clinical skills, and has been proven to be very effective. China has a long history of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism culture, and thus has a good cultural foundation and basis of the collective unconscious for meditation. Therefore, this research attempts to develop a mindfulness meditation group intervention model that fits Chinese college students, explore its impact to the students'mental health, and develop indigenous psychology and psychological treatment system. Two experiments have been conducted in this research:the first experiment is targeting current college students major in psychology, and is designed with the experimental group pre-post-follow-up test strategy. Before the experiment, a simple revision of Body-Mind-Spirit Well-Being Inventory (Hong Kong) has been made to assese its applicability among the college students in Chinese mainland; the second experiment is targeting current college students major in various specialties, and is designed with the experimental group and control group pre-post-follow-up test strategy. Experiments reached the following conclusions:Firstly, the continuous five-day mindfulness meditation has effectively improved the mindfulness psychology level of college students major in psychology and the overall level of body-mind-spirit well-being, reduced their anxiety levels, enhanced the stability of attention level, and the effect has been better maintained in the one month follow-up afterword. The Body-Mind-Spirit Well-Being Inventory has a good reliability and constructive validity, and thus has a high applicability.Secondly, a four weeks, and each week half-day group mindfulness meditation has effectively improved the mindfulness level of the college students, and has a positive effect in improving of mood, reducing anxiety level, and promoting self-harmony in some ways, which has been maintained at a certain degree in the one month follow-up afterword.Thirdly, the research has confirmed that the designed practice of mindfulness meditation group intervention is feasible and effective, and can be widely promoted among college students.
