The travel note, as we know, is the literary output which is used to record travelling insights. It originates from Wei and Jin Dynasties, and is mature in Northern and Southern Dynasties. In the end of Northern Song Dynasty, the Nvzhen nationality in the north was gradually stronger, and united most of the northern area including Huanghe valley. In hundreds of years during which Song and Jin were in counter, the two parts communicated quite frequent, and would send out ambassadors to each other regularly or irregularly. Ambassadors of Song would send an ambassador report after the tasked had been finished, which was the travel note to Jin. The content of the note usually contains the other country's mountains, rivers, paths, cities and customs, as well as what the ambassador has seen and has talked to, which was rarely seen in common materials and was very useful in studying histories of Jin Dynasty. The essay is on that condition, studying about contents of the Travel notes to Jin and their historical value tentatively, so that to find some valuable results.The essay will be divided into six parts as follow:The first part is introduction, which includes the research significance and current studies domestically and internationally. It will also include the conclusion and observation on studies about Travel notes to Jin in the current academia, as well as describe the utilization of those research findings and creations of this essay.The second part is Chapter One, A Generalization of Travel notes to Jin in Song Dynasty. Here it will introduce Travel notes to Jin in four parts. To be exact, it will tell the writing background in the following parts:the formation of the countering between Song and Jin, the set up of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the sending out of the ambassador to Jin and the creation of Jin's travel notes. It will also introduce the authors of the notes from their group characteristics and their official positions when sending out. Finally, it will analyze the attitude of Song's sending on a diplomatic mission.The third part is Chapter Two, Researches on the categories of contents of Travel notes to Jin in Song Dynasty (Part 1). This chapter will conclude and discuss about the notes from politics, economy, culture and geographic travelling. The first period is to discuss Jin's politics in two parts:Song and Jin's peaceful negotiation and territorial disputes, other aspects of Jin's politics. While the economy and culture of Jin take a small part of the notes, the discussion will be general. The final period will be divided into four parts:the route of the mission, travelling equipment, setting up of the inns and geography of Jin. This part has concluded travelling and geographical situations of Jin in the notes.The fourth part is Chapter Three, Researches on the categories of contents of Travel notes to Jin in Song Dynasty (Part 2).This chapter discusses about regulations of deliveries of Song and Jin, as well as Jin's social activities. Travel notes to Jin have kept the firsthand material of delivery manners of Song and Jin, which has complemented other history records. The first part discusses manners of the ambassador's accepting the mission and Jin's welcoming of Song's ambassador, in order to reinstate the whole manner of delivery between Song and Jin. The second part is to analyze Jin's social activities from aspects of diet, clothes and customs.The Fifth part is Chapter Four, An Analyze on Value of Historical Record of Travel Notes to Jin in Song Dynasty. It will analyze the historical records'value from Jin's politics, economy, culture, travelling geography, delivery manner, and social activities.The sixth part is Conclusion, which is the generalization of the whole essay.
