| In this thesis, Joseph-Maurice Ravel's very famous orchestral music, Bolero, was studied. Based on this music, the author also analyzed Ravel's style and texture of his music.Chapter 1 is the overview and includes three sections. Section I briefly introduces the life and musical career of Ravel. As the outstanding and famous composer, pianist and master of instrumentation, Ravel showed his personality and art value in his work and got achievements and praised highly in the world of music. In the Section II, the musical style of Ravel is studied. He was not only the famous master of orchestral music, but also is a precise composer. Section III introduces the impact factors of how his musical style formed, which include the Basque heritage, early life, and the music career.Chapter 2 is about the characterization of his orchestral music. The feature of his orchestral music was introduced, including his orchestral music of early works, later works and final works.Chapter 3 of this thesis describes and analysis at great length on this famous music-Bolero. First of all, the musical background of this work is introduced. Then the author shows the typicalness and representativeness of Bolero.Chapter 4 analyzes the Bolero has much musical influence on orchestral music. The structure and texture of Bolero is analyzed from five different aspects, including musical form, harmony-mode-tonality, orchestration, structural intensity and rhythm.Chapter 5 shows the artistic characteristics and influence of Bolero. |
