Linguistic Ideology In The Public Sun Longzi

Gong Sun Long Zi is a unique philosophy book in the history. However, because of the inconformity between Gong's philosophy and ancient China's mainstream philosophy, and Gong's a series of ideas representing by "White horse is not a horse", which are not consistent with people's conventionally cognitive and experiential philosophy, Gong's philosophy was regarded as heresy for a long time. Since the widespread of western's culture in Ming and Qing dynasties, the masterpiece, Gong Sun Long Zi, has been gradually recognized and accepted by Chinese scholars; moreover, very invaluable philosophy theory was discovered constantly during the research process on this book. Nevertheless, this phenomenon is not accidental. Western learning's inrush into China provides people with a new vision, and Chinese scholars have started to accept Western-style rationalists'speculative way that the pursuit of truth, the spirit of concern for the natural science perspective of science regarding the external world. Nowadays, in the ontology of Gong, cognitive theory and other philosophical areas of research, we can see that, Gong Sun Long Zi is also a masterpiece including profound Linguistics ideology. As we examine them in the eyes of modern western Linguistics, a lot of valuable semantics, cognitive linguistics, philosophy of language and other aspects of viewpoints can be learned from it. Therefore, it would be of great significance and importance to re-examine and interpret Gong Sun Long Zi combined with modern linguistics.Based on the starting point of modern western semantics, and citing the western views of semantics and language philosophy, Gong Sun Long Zi was reinterpreted one-by-one in this thesis. The main research content, i.e., the analysis of Gong Sun Long Zi, was conducted from chapter 2 to chapter 6. In chapter 2, analysis was taken on Gong Sun Long Zi·On Fame & Object. Additionally, with the view of modern western theories of semantics, a novel understanding on Theory of Fame & Object was explained. Reinterpretation of specific terminology in the Gong's ideology was given. Detailed analysis on "name rectification theory" and "Fame & Object relationship" was conducted, which demonstrated that the theory has been exceeded the name of science in their own terms, related to semantics and language philosophy. In chapter 3, this thesis on Gong Sun Long Zi·Zhi Wu Theory, one of the "means" the new concept of a semantic analysis of terms, and clearly put forward Gong philosophy, and "Semantic Triangle" theory very similar, "thing-thinking-language" of the three factors framework. In chapter 4, analysis on the Gong Sun Long Zi·on Solidity and Whiteness was carried out in accordance with the views of western philosophy of language, explaining that the title features between things, the characteristics of independent existence. In chapter 5, the thesis analyzed the Gong sun Long Zi·Tongbian Theory central theme "two no one" in the sense of language semiotic analysis of the compound as a language to refer to the independence of the symbols and revealed the synthesis of compounds studied. In chapter 6, a comprehensive modern linguistics on Gong sun Long Zi-White Horse Theory was given, in the preceding table of contents, obtained through the modern concept of linguistic analysis to summarize, to explain the Gong's ideology of "White horse is not a horse" that has long been unable to be accepted by people.The primary result and innovation of this research are:(1) With the point of view of modern western linguistics, as well as the method of comparative linguistics research, we re-analysis and re-interpreted ancient-Chinese name theory. (2)Compared with the "semantic triangle", Gong sun Long's linguistic framework has another term "bit". We interpret this term as generic, that means, during the process of objects cognition and name with language, the first step is to get knowledge about the general natural present, rather than understand and definite at the level of individual. (3)We bring in "means" as the term "subjective conception" into Gong sun Long's philosophy. (4) So "mean" and "objects" are considered as the relationship between objects and meaning in semantic triangle. Therefore, we can infer the distinctive and interdependent relationship between conception and object from Gong Sun Long's philosophy.
