The Welsch Aesthetic Thought

In a time of society transforming with aesthetic generalization, the sounding and rapid changes happened in political, economic, cultural, art, philosophy and other fields. On the one hand, the universality of aesthetic trend swept, spread to every level of human practice; at the same time, beauty is fleeting. The traditional aesthetics is facing the challenge raised by the changing realities is confronting the new mandates and requirements. German scholar Wolfgang Welsch as a post-modern aesthete, not only the change he found but the underlying motivation, proposed the blueprint of aesthetics reconstruction. Deeply diving in the sea of Welsch's aesthetics theories and searching means an academic feedback to all those aesthetic changes born in our everyday life and a new approach to considering contemporary issues. This paper tried to investigate Welsch's aesthetics theories in the three aspects of the post-modern concept, aesthetics of daily life and aesthetics reconstruction, using "Transversale Vernunft" thinking to further examine the relationship in between, trying to fully grasp the Welsch'aesthetics, revealing the practical and liquidity characteristics of Welsch'aestheticIntroduction part contained the biography and academic traits of Welsch, and the state, the value of his aesthetics theories that as a base to present the researching methodology and the paper's overall containing.The first part analyzes the post-modern view of Welsch, which is the forming background and the methodological basis of his aesthetics theories. Postmodernism, the very important shift to our society, as in the recent decades, when dramatic changes flooded over the social, political and economic life,and the art, science and philosophy fields, in a controversial state of reading and interpreting, is comprehensively defined as a opening concept like Wittgenstein's "family resemblance". Welsch identified the post-modern started from its relationship with the modern which one he confirmed as the birth mother, as a son inherited the existed characteristics of modernity and also created his own nova ideas, so we can use post-modern to gain a more conscious and extensive understanding of the modern. Diversity as an important feature of the post-modern is the key to the grasping, and " Transversale Vernunft" is the basic mode of thinking. The second part describes a picture of post-modern showing us the current processing global aesthetics or the aestheticization of everyday life. In fact, modernity contains this trend of daily aesthetics. The concerns of daily life is an important turning of philosophy in the 20th century, when instrumental rationality depressed on the daily life led to the alienation of people, so they tried to introduce the aesthetic experience into living to explore its own creativity to resist the invasion of instrumental rationality. As human-being stepped into a consumer society with the great material richness, the phenomenon of aesthetic generalization became more and more popular, not only in the surface of life, but also in transforming our world into a super-aesthetic one, and even affecting the base of building reality itself, like the unexpected physical reality caused by new materials and technologies, and the refreshing social reality caused by the media pass, and the subject reality caused by self-design. The origin for this entire situation is the hedonism supported by consumer-consciousness, and becoming our new culture matrix.The third part is clarifying the new tasks and requirements in facing the daily aesthetics. Welsch based on the post-modern context of aesthetic generalization, rethought the limitations of traditional aesthetics in anti-emotional, the scope, and the single object, and used " Transversale Vernunft" to analyze the complexity of aesthetic concepts and aesthetic perceptions, with explanations found in the accommodation of truth and aesthetics, and in that of ethics and aesthetics, and with proofs found in the expansion of aesthetics, finally strived to restore the "sensitive knowing" from ancient Greek, and build the new, open and pluralistic aesthetics, covering all areas of perception and beyond disciplinary boundaries, which will be a more general and common media to perceive the real.The epilogue attempts to explain the changing and developing state of real aesthetics by the Welsch's aesthetics theories. The aesthetic workers should always base on the reality we cognized and perceived, and handle the aesthetic actions and objects in different phases of practicing and divers fields, to perfect the aesthetics according to its own law of advancing.
