The importance of music for the film has been accepted by all the film makers. However, for the theory investigation of the film music structure, it is still given with few opinions. This article is written to strive for the understanding of the film music structure from a new perspective.First of all, based on the inevitability of the story structure in a film, the film music should also be within its structure. With the whole film's style, mood, thought content, under a certain structure, it uses the composition techniques to complete the film music production.Secondly, I believe that film music is a "scattered in form integrated in spirit" in the structure. To prove this point, I categorized many kinds of music from lots of outstanding films. By analyzing the role-play of the music and its arrangement in the film, we can obviously find the basic material regarding the film music theme or film content, whatever it is made for the film itself, or for the partial depiction.With such knowledge, I made a further analysis and argument for the structure of the film music:Let's talking from the whole structure, the film music structure is of motive, overture and theme, while, from the partial structure, the film music structure is of repetitiveness and descriptiveness.Of course, I don't mean to deny that there are also some special structures in film music. Such music is just for some special scene, and not the theme music from the whole movie material. Yet it does not change the film structural characteristic of "scattered in form-integrated in spirit", which exaggerates some special scene of the film.
