The paper made an investigation among 586 students which covered two grades from junior one and junior two. It made a study on the relation of Personality, Global self-esteem and Learning adaptability. It was found that:(1) Many of the rural middle school students have low scores in Learning adaptability test, particularly in scores of "learning attitude" and "mind and body health" sub tests. There are significant differences between grades and gender in total learning adaptability scores and in the "learning attitude","learning techniques", "learning environment" and "mind and body health" sub tests scores. The learning adaptability of the junior one students were significantly better than that of junior two students, and the girl students are better than the boy students.(2) The results also showed that the correlation between learning adaptability and some personal traits was significant, which indicates that those who have a high level in learning adaptability were excellent in personality, they bear obvious extroversion, and have a lower psychoticism and neuroticism level.(3) There are not significant differences between grades and gender in the scores of the Global self-esteem.(4)There are significant correlations among Personality, Global self-esteem and Learning adaptability. And there was a positive correlation between the global self-esteem, extroversion/introversion, learning attitude, learning techniques, learning environment and mind and body health factors.(5) The study made a Multiple Regression Analysis, taking Personality(M), Global self-esteem(M) as the independent variables, and Learning adaptability(Y) as the dependent variable, it showed that the Global self-esteem plays the intermediary role between the Personality and Learning adaptability.
