Since the Western positive psychology has been developed, the research on Subjective Well-Being received wide attention. Subjective Well-Being usually refers to individuals'overall assessment on their quality of life in the light of the standards set up by themselves. Generally, it includes three dimensions: life satisfaction, positive emotion and negative emotion. The life satisfaction stands for individuals' cognitive evaluation on the overall quality of life, the positive and negative emotion stands for individuals'emotional experience in life.There has been much research about middle school students'subjective well-being, however, the past study mostly concerned on the city, there is few research devoted to the study of subjective well-being for rural middle school students. The survey from all aspects indicates that, in relation to urban peers, rural middle school students showed more psychological behavior problems, such as interpersonal anxiety, low self-esteem, etc. Thus, we should attach more importance to the subjective well-being situation of rural middle school students.This research chooses first, second and third grades students of two schools which reside in Liaocheng rural town as the research object, used the adolescent Well-Being Schedule developed by Zhang Xinggui, Rosenberg Self-esteem Questionnaire, and the Perceived Social Support Scale developed by Jiang Qianjin, and so on. It explores the general characteristics of subjective well-being, examined the correlation between self-esteem, social support and subjective well-being.The following conclusions can be drawn from the results of this research.1. Rural middle school students'subjective well-being is at a medium level, it doesn't show significant differences across sexes, across left-behind and non-left-behind students,across live-in school students and non-live-in school students; it shows significant differences across grades.2. Rural middle school students'self-esteem overall level is high, it doesn't show significant differences across sexes, across grades.3 Rural middle school students'social support overall situation is in good condition, it shows significant differences across grades, across sexes.4 Self-esteem and subjective well-being are relevant significantly.5 Social support and subjective well-being are relevant significantly.6 Self-esteem and social support are relevant significantly, and have obvious impact on a student's subjective well-being.
