As to the Main-land China and Taiwan, their cultural backgrounds are nearly from the congenetic origin. Although for the difference of social system and certain political reasons, the local literature in the two sides of the straits have stepped into two different roads, based on the general picture of the Chinese contemporary literature in the 20th century, the literary creation in the Main-land and Taiwan have still been under the background of traditional Chinese culture. For the "This Shore" complex of traditional Chinese philosophy's positive attitude towards common lives, Chinese writers always hold amiable manner towards common customs, which has been significantly reflected in the creation of local literature. Wang Zengqi and Xiao Lihong, the former a senior writer while the latter a female Taiwan writer, have always been concentrated on common lives, strived to abstract the bright aspect and pursued to this brightness, which is the extraordinary value of their literary creation.This thesis contains four chapters. The first chapter focuses on the Chinese literature's spiritual tradition of common customs, and the inheritance to this tradition in the field of local literature both in the Main-land China and Taiwan. Chapter two analyzes the two writers' common customs' creation in the respect of culture, furthermore discovers the positive aspects of humanity, especially the harmonious and patient spiritual state. Chapter three compares the works of Wang Zengqi and Xiao Lihong from the view of text analysis. This part discusses the two writers' similar local novel creation bases on text structure, view angle and language. The last chapter begins the subjective creation analysis so that it is pointed out that although Wang Zengqi and Xiao Lihong are totally different in age, experience and markings, they carried on their creation under the same background-traditional Chinese culture. Therefore, Wang Zengqi could persist the gentle and mild spiritual state and concentrate in the description of ordinary people's lives while Xiao Lihong eventually found the creation orientation which she always longs for so that she could stand out from boudoirs' literature and considered special.
