In modern Chinese, "kun,. juan feng,, chuan"type of words have the parts of speech of both verbs and classifiers, we address these words as "kun. juan" type of words. This paper analyzes the factors that drive the derivation of the "kun, juan"type of words in part of speech and semantic meaning. There are three parts in this paper. The first part discusses the process of the derivation of "kun,. juan"type of words in part of speech and semantic meaning from diachronic plane. 揔un-, juan" type of words were all verbs in primary ancient Chinese, after development and derivation except continuing to act as verbs, they gradually turn to be attached before nouns and act as classifiers, and form the [numeral + classifier + noun ] structure. From the primary ancient Chinese to the modern Chinese, the combination of the "kun,. juan"type of words with numerals and classifiers has undergone the following patterns: (1)Can fall into the pattern of 搉oun + [numeral +classifier]" (2) Attached to noun before numeral phrase, and form the "cardinal/ordinal numeral +classifier]+noun"structure. (3) Can form: a. oun +[numeral + classifier]" b.numeral + classifier] + noun" c."[numeral + adjective +classifier] +noun" d."pronoun +classifier]+noun" These patterns are the conditions that drive the derivation of the "kun, juan ype of classifiers from the "kun juan ype of verbs. From the evolution of the "kun,. juan ype of classifiers, firstly there are some similar characteristics between verbs and classifiers, the original meaning is evolved into the transferred meaning by the following two ways. The two ways are: (1) the usage of analogy (2) extension from the lexical meaning. In the second part of this paper, by observing the scattering characteristics of the "kun. juan"type of words, we discuss the grammatical and semantic characteristics of "kun .. juan"type of words in synchronic plane from the semantic meaning and collocation aspects. The third part is conclusion words.
