This article gives a research on the grant sub-semantic field, using the research methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis, diachronic and synchronic. The research object have common and special words belong to the grant sub-semantic field. The "grant" kind of verb semantic field of "general" and "special" to give "of the members were studied. Chinese history stages to analyze, this article divided into ancient Chinese (pre-qin to han dynasty), the medieval Chinese (at the end of the eastern han dynasty to the early stage), the modern Chinese (the five dynasties late tang dynasty to qing dynasty) three parts, and will select all the four representative of literature as literature, first of all, the synchronic analyze, the second for each field members internal changes diachronic comparison, finally summarizes the evolution of "grant" semantic field. This paper is divided into four chapters:the first chapter includes the theoretical background, research present condition, subject, content and value is the last research material and method."Grant" in the second chapter describes and analysis different period three sub-semantic field the main members in each period representative sememe and frequency, The third chapter study "grant" semantic field every member, in two parts to discuss:(1) the usage of old words and its decay process;(2) the inheritance and development of the old words. The fourth chapter explores the semantic field vocabulary development, rules induction in the semantic field characteristics in the process of historical evolution. And analyze the historical evolution of "grant" semantic field. In a word:using the theory of "semantic field" investigation The ancient Chinese vocabulary system is a feasible way.
