| Structure 揦 de (~t~3) VP,?is a especial endocentric construction in Chinese.Compared with model endocentric construction, 揦 de VP?cannot be expanded randomly, and its?immediate constituent cannot be used independently, either.Statistics show that the structure is used in written far more than in spoken. Describing the structure generally, this thesis points out that 揦?, as the attribute of揤P?, would be kinds of part of speech such as noun * pronoun ,and kinds of phrases such as Prep.+n. . In semantic stratum , 揦?could be considered of argument of the 揤P?,such as Agentive. Objective. Dative. Instrumental~ Resultative. Locative.Temporal. However, excepted Agentive and Objective, the others are marked. When 揦 de VP?is as a subject or an object in a sentence, the predicate must be coordinated with the meanings of the 揤P?揦 de VP?designates an event that symbol as 揦+VP?. In the context, according to whether 慩?is definite or indefinite, designation of the structure can be divided into anaphora~ cataphora or exophora. Anaphora is the most important one. Different designations suggest the event appear in article already or not. 揦 de VP?also could be the topic of a sentence but only be a generalized topic.Each verb has its own temporal feature. Whether a verb can be designate 揳 thing?or not is decided by its?intrinsic temporal feature . That is to say, the more notable a verb?s temporal finish is, the easier the verb?s designation would be.Because both the two forms of 揦 de buQF) VP?and 揦 de meiQQ)VP?are unusual, the thesis elucidates that there is no direct relation between 揦 de VP?and verb?s extrinsic temporal feature. |
