This paper attempts to apply the basic theory of the rising cognitive linguistics to giving new explication to the one-valence verb in Chinese. The key point is that the spatial character is the essential quality of the verb. According to this viewpoint, one verb not only possesses its individual action space but also constructs comparatively independent event space. From the difference created by the spatial dimensions of the motional verbs, we divide one-valence verb into one-dimension verb, two-dimension, three-dimension and zero-dimension. Owing the difference of its dimension directions, the former two types could be called non-direct verb and the later two could be called directed-verb. What抯 more, this paper also give detailed analyses to the time factor that influences the verb抯 spatial character. At last, it analyses three types of special sentence pattern: existing sentence. phenomenon sentence and possessive sentence. All our work is based upon the human抯 cognition.
