On Ling Drama Art Style

Summary Yulin(1907-1997)is a famous dramatist in modern Chinese history and an influential playwright of unique artistic style as well. with a poet's acute sense and political passion, his drama reflects the life of all social walks at the times of shanghai"Isolated Island"; brings to light the essence and developing tendency of social life of specified history era. It has an insight into human nature and human feelings, a thought of life philosophy. It also has folk custom of ordinary shanghainese and metropolitian. It has evolved a style of its own "a combination of poem and custom,"It adds new aesthetic style and features, inherent quality to modern drama, shapes its own magnificent landscape; exerts a great influence. My thesis is based on a complete survey of Yulin's drama and development. It goes further into the form, development and complicated construction; discusses its basic feature of its drama artistic style, historical contribution and deficiency. On one hand ,it helps to make a further study about the drama of yulin's and "Isolated Island"times, on the other hand ,it lets people know something more about the history of development artistic style and features, inherent law of modern Chinese drama.
