Bakhtin Polyphonic Poetic Theory

Nowadays Bakhtin has become a very famous and important theoretician in the world. This paper just focuses on his polyphony theory. By studying its influence to the traditional novel theory and humanism way, I want to use this method to study Chinese modern literature. Five parts are included in this paper. Part one gives a general idea of his polyphony theory and his aesthetic ideal. Part two states his polyphony theory's shock to the traditional novel theory. Part three thoroughly defines the polyphony by his utterance theory and discloses the defect of Bakhtin's theory. Part four studies the origin of polyphony in the culture by carnivalization theory. Part five studies Chinese modern literature by polyphony theory.
