Ming And Qing Shaanxi Operated Art Research

Rising in Ming Dynasty,flourishing in Qing Dynasty and declining in modern times,the Shaanxi Shangbang played a very important role in society and economy of Shaanxi in Ming and Qing Dynasties.Through running the business for about500years,the Shaanxi merchants formed their arts of management,including accurate management locaˉtion,flexible managerial mechanism,being good at grasping commecial oppotunities,beˉing bold in making innovations,creating excellent management environment,and so on.The dissertation asserts that their arts of management were the results of inheriting and developing predecessors'skills of management.The environment of Shaanxi bred the character of Shaanxi people,which includes honest,industrious and adventurous characˉter.The commercial tradition of Shaanxi also influenced Shaanxi merchants potentially.The environment and the commercial tradition of Shaanxi consisted of the human geograˉphy of the arts of management.The traditional morality,especially the economic ethics of Confucianism,played a guiding role in the forming of the arts of management.The faˉmous merchants in the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period,gave Shaanxi merchants models to follow on a technical level.On this basis,the dissertation analyses that the forming of their arts of management had a great deal with the improving of culture quality of Shaanxi merchants in Ming and Qing Dynasties.The cream of their arts of management is valuable historic legacy.It can play a historic enlightening role in developing the market economy in Shaanxi Province.
