ABSTRCT'' Relying on records in ancient document, the inscription onbones or tortoise shells and archeaological evidences, the papertry to inquire into the exchange of commodity of Shang dynasty.The paper discusses it from some respects as follows.Firstly, because the development of product force social divi-sion of labour further deeped, and the city was also developedproperly, this lays a foundation for the advancement of commodi-ty exchange.Secondly, the paper analyzes advancement of exchange ofcommodity from several aspects and deduces the character ofi Shang dynasty'S exchange of commodity.Thirdly paper discusses the effect of Shang dynasty'S ex-chang on following history, and point out that the commerce ofshang dynasty ia the source of the ancient commerce of our na-tlOn.Finally paper stress that in late Shang-dynasty, because ofthe development of exchange of commodity, professional dealerarised and formed a social class which made commerce be seperat-ed from agricaulture and handicraft, and made it be a importantcompohant of social economy.
