Study On The "Xiangxi World" Of Shen Congwen

Shen Congwen, a characteristic writer in the contemporary history of literature, constructs a dreamlike world of Xiangxi through his fiction and prose. The experiences of his early life in Xiangxi and the feeling to the hard life in Beijing made him concerned about Xiangxi which he knew well; Moreover, he tried his best to unearth the rich cultural meaning of Xiangxi, Shen congwen gives a all-respect reflection of Xiangxi. This present paper illustrates the Xiangxi world in Shen congwen's works from the following three perspectives.Part I , starting from his experience and creature attitude focuses on the true reflection of Xiangxi traditional cultures, among which the customs are stressed.Part II, mainly explores and analyzes the "Xiangxi Spirit" Shen Congwen made great efforts carrying forward from the aspects like merits of human nature, merits of human feeling, etc.Part El , further discusses the practicalism Shen congwen holds towards the Xiangxi world, specificly unearthes the helpless reality of Xiangxi and points out Shen congwen's ideal that the national morality should be restructured by Xiangxi spirit.
