Yu-shan School of Qin was the most important Qin school in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. This article states clearly and explores systematically the school' s founding background, the historical picture, the esthetics concept and the style-changing. I believe that the school's founding has closely related to the social background of the mid-Ming Dynasty and the Wu Area's beautiful and smooth scene. Yan Cheng-the founder of Yu-shan School of Qin edited Songxian Studio Qin Tablature, which encouraged the Qin-style of Qing Wei Dan Yuan (Purity, Subtlety, Simplicity. Remoteness), corrected the doings of randomly producing the Qin pieces at that moment and radically reformed the Qin style. But it had some limitations. Later on. Xu Shangying edited Dahuan Studio Qin Tablature, and Xishan Guideline on Qin Music based on Yan Cheng's theory, which further reinforced and modified Yan Cheng's idea from theory to practice. This made the Yu-shan School of Qin attain great gracefjand so it was esteemed the orthodox school by the later Qin players.Yu-shan School of Qin had a deep impact on the later Qin players, Qin schools, the style of Qin tablatures and the ideas of Qin esthetics. In the Qing Dynasty especially. Guang-ling School of Qin made a creative development on the basis of Yu-shan School of Qin. The process of Yu-shan School's founding, developing and changing showed the historical rule of Qin's heritance, development and immortality.
