The more important period of Chinese development is in the later of Tang and Wudai Dynasty, during which , many new words -. new meanings of some old words and some special vocabulary forms appears. So it is a necessary step for us to study the words of this times .specially to study the mostimportant language materials in this period----the memorandum notels , andYouyangzazu() is one of the most dinstictive reference at this period. Therefore , the dissertation counts the disyllabic words of the book and puts emphasis on completely describing and analyzing the disyllabic the new words or the new meaning of the book, by the means of fixed quantity statistics and static description. At the same time, it tries to find out the characteristics of the disyllabic new words, by comparing this book with the language materials in Weijin Nanbei Dynasty and Dunhuangbianwen. It also points out some weakness in collecting and interpreting the words in the Grand Dictionary of Chinese Language. The author wishes to make contributions towards the research on the history of Chinese language, especially to the historical lexicology of Chinese, and supplies some materials and makes some suggestions for recompiling and correcting the Chinese dictionaries.This dissertation consists of two parts: preface and a text. The text concludes five parts: Part one: the standard of deciding the new words and the new meaning: Part two: examples for the new words and the new meaning in this book;Part three: the formation of all the disyllabic words in this book; Part four: the study about the structure of the words' separation and combination in this book; Part five: conclusion.
