Ssu K'ung T'u was one of the famous poets in late-Tang, recently, the academic dispute about the real author of Twenty-Four Poetry Style has sprung up and interested more and more scholars. Going deep into the works' research and sort-out of ancient books, the study of the poet's life will gradually caused attentions and break a new way for the above-mentioned study.Basing on a vast amount of historic data, this thesis has objectively outlined the poet's life and proper place in literature history from three hands in four chapters.Chapter â…  has made a textual research of Ssu K'ung T'us life and the written year of part of his prose and poems. A chronicle of his life has been also completed.Chapter â…¡ has expounded and proved the changes of his main works, YiMing Collection, during the course of being handed down, from the angle of edition-logy. Besides, four works that were not mentioned in historical records have been sorted out.Chapter â…¢ has described Ssu K'ung T'us literature achievement and his proper place in historians' and artists' eyes, by citing numerous comments of scholars from late Tang to Qing dynastyChapter â…£ has sorted out and classified the research achievements about Ssu K'ung T'u in past century ,and the author's opinion about the arguments on Twenty-Four Poetry Style has been put forward.
