Jiao Tai Yun is an important rhyme book during WanLi period of Ming Dynasty , which reflects Official speech-sounds . Scue predecessors have Bade some commentary remarks covering it , but they have never made a thorough study . Based on the whole grasp to the author's life , the course of writing and the system of initial and rhymes and tones , this dissertation emphatically studies the feature of it reflected in the book, by horizontal and vertical comparisons and contacting to the contemporary rhyme documents and present sound , so as to showing its phonetic property and values in phonetic history to us. The thesis consists of four parts: Part one: The Historical Events about Jiao Tai Yun.The author of Jiao Tai Yun lu kun was born in NingLing county of HeNan Province. He has exceptional achievement in Philosophy and Rhyme . he has some novel ideas about learning that anyone should attain something by himself and bring forth new ideas in his study , so he is very respectable against the background of vain thoughts . Jiao Tai Yun comes out under the guidance of this idea . The author says that his book wants to discard the wordy parts of Yun Xue Ji Cheng, and be close to the concise style of Hcng Wu Zheng Yun , and show the phonetic form of middle area speech-sounds ,He also says that people talk about in middle official speech-sounds at that time . As a result of the thoughts , it is not to be taken as an stranger , which the official speech-sounds is his main trends , and middle area accent is his foundation and mixed dialect at the same time.Jiao Tai Yun is a ibyme book compiled by Yun Tu. a flexible and fresh way is used in it. Its style can be summarized as follows: It is guided by the rhyme classes and arranged according to the initials taking account of Kai He Hong Xi and departed into two parts of Yin Yang ; Ping , Shang , Qu and Ru tones are passed on from one to another Either Yin tone or Yang tone is deployed with Ru tone ;And Fan Qie is listed Part two: Initial SystemThere are twenty initials in Jiao Tai Yun, the feature reflected in the book containthe following aspects:(l)The four initials Ying Yun Yi and Yi are identified to be a zero initial which is opposite to v ;(2)The changing of Zhi and Zhang and Zhuang initials in this rhyme table have be identified each other , they are keeping old arrangement which is the Zhi-third and Zhang initials are spelled with Kai Kou while the Zhi-second and Zhuang initials spelled with I-class, but a part of rhyme classes like Yang Zhi Hui and a little of Dong Wen ; the identity of Zhuang-thiid and Jing imtials;(3)the devoicing rule often voices is similar to Beijing accent. Ping tone of stopand stop-spirant changes into aspirated sard ,while its Ze tone changes into preruptive surd . Spirant turn into hcmorganic surd, but there are a lot of words changing m other way. Part Three: Final systemJiao Tad Yun has 21 rhyme classes, which are arranged in approximate way just like Shu Wen Yin Yi Bian Kao Si Bian . The features in the rhyme classes mainly consists of the following aspects. (1) Words of the first-grade and second-grade of Shan Xian She belong to different rhymes, Han rhyme class is opposite to Shan rhyme. Moreover, words of dental and alveolar of Shan Xian She belong to Shan rhyme class. (2) Xiao rhyme class is opposite to Hao , words of the first-grade and the second-grade of Xiao She belong to Hao rhyme , while the third-grade and the forth-grade belong to Xiao class ,but they have been identified each other.
