Literature is an outcome of words. Not. only the author' s understanding and interpretation of the life and the world, but also understanding of the role words play in a text or in his own writing, are all in important connection with his understanding and his arrangement of those mystical letters. To Jorge Luis Borges, words are basic elements that constitute the whole world. Words, and their magic combination in a text, are ways by which God has Himself manifested before us. To play with words, so, is to meet with God. And we should be serious, sometimes religious and selfless, in doing such a job. It was precisely in this view that Borges tried to find the sole Word, which, according to him, causes all the miracles of the world. In the final analysis, the sole ForJconsists of two characteristics: The first is its timelessness. Refusing Newtonian physical time, Borges argues for the instant, identical and timeless nature inherent in the concept of time. The second is its appearance as symbols, that is, words as metaphors both of themselves and of something else. Here, one of our tasks is to seek for the potential meaning behind the seemingly familiar words. It was for this purpose that Borges dedicated himself to the discovery of the creativity of the creativity of words, trying to reveal their magic power.Furthermore, there are three aspects in Borges' writing. The first is classicalism, which, used by Borges, is rather an emphasis on symbols and metaphors than its usual use in the history of literature. And in Borges' own practice, it represents a magic narrative. The second is play, which, appealing both to imagination and to metaphysicalcontemplation, calls for a proper detachment from the so-called real world and thus embraces a philosophical wisdom. The third is the ontology of the sole Word, which suggests that the essence of the world hides in the sole Word and behind its various appearance. By focusing on the mystery of the Word, Borges believes, we may find a new way for the literature that is now in its wane.
